A proposed new reservoir in Lincolnshire
We’re launching our third phase of public consultation on 21 October.
Lasting eight weeks, the consultation will be another opportunity for you to find out more about our latest proposals and have your say.
Your feedback will influence our decisions and we’re keen to hear what you have to say on the parts of the project included in this consultation.
The new reservoir in Lincolnshire is a crucial investment we need to help secure future water supplies and support our long-term goal of ensuring the East of England is resilient to the risks of drought and flooding.
The consultation will provide new information, including how the reservoir could be built, filled and eventually powered.

Why the reservoir is needed
Our region is growing rapidly and is one of the UK's driest, making it especially vulnerable to a changing climate.
In this video, Geoff Darch, Head of Strategic Asset Planning at Anglian Water, explains why the reservoir will play a critical role in securing water supply long into the future.
Our ongoing survey work
We’re continuing our work to better understand the land we could be working on.
From archaeological trial trenching to habitat surveys, our busy 2026 survey programme is helping us build on what we’ve learned about the area so far.
We’re committed to keeping the local community informed of our work.
Surveys are a crucial part of developing the reservoir and help us build a clear picture of ground conditions and the local environment.
Our teams are working hard across both the main reservoir site and areas identified for associated water infrastructure to do this.
You can find out more by reading our survey fact sheet here.
